EDITORIAL: Fourth time around
This won’t boost their flagging spirits, but the Lady Bears shouldn’t punish themselves too severely over their 58-46 loss to the Aggies on Tuesday evening, even if it does drop us from further competition in the NCAA Women’s Basketball championship.
It did take the Aggies facing the Lady Bears three times to finally learn their lesson. Sadly, fourth time around was the charm. In their final matchup this season, A&M at last managed to outmaneuver the Lady Bears, playing a far better game. In many ways, it seemed a replay of the Lady Bears’ frustrating Feb. 19 loss to Texas Tech: too little mojo.
Maybe the Lady Bears just got tired of playing the Aggies so often in one season. Understandable.
But in the end, you still have to play the cards you’re dealt. And the Lady Bears played them well enough to get further in competition than most.
