Poem: 'Another Day of Infamy'

Sunday September 11, 2011

Our mission today in humble spirit, is not to celebrate

Simply to remember, and commemorate

The healing hands of time, have soothed the grief and pain

Leaving only scars, to ponder and remain

Forever embedded in our mind, another day of infamy

Calamity by those whose charge, is death to liberty

Innocents died, harm’s way be still intact

Scales do balance, justice will extract

Eye for eye, indemnity will not suffice

Terrorist pay, much more handsome price

Never to be paid in full, thousands have been harmed

Evil nation set your course, we are so informed

Waked by radical Islamic demons, in the sky

Our Nation standing reply, ours to do or die

Brutal acts brought down, New York’s twin towers

Ten years hence on hallowed ground, we lay sweet flowers

Such monstrous deed, went not without reprise

Seeming eternal war unleashed, infernos bitterly to realize

Strong in our minds, from then to now remain

Indelible the day, of agony and pain

Vigilance in defense of liberty need be extreme

Tyranny must be stopped and freedom rule supreme
