Ted Nugent: Against the evil we face, war is the answer
Seeing what valor looks like, knowing cause is just

Sunday, August 19, 2007

Toby Keith and I stood at the bedside of Pfc. Todd Bolding of Central Texas.

We were far from home, having just landed via Blackhawk battle copter on the tarmac of Bondsteel U.S. Military Hospital in Germany.

Visiting with wounded heroes of the world's greatest warriors from the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, National Guard and Marine Corps, we were deeply humbled — not only by the courage of these amazing men and women, but also by their commitment to get their shattered bodies repaired as soon as possible to "grab my rifle and get back to the front lines to fight with my buddies."

God bless America.

We spent two weeks with these heroes, hanging out, eating, shooting, talking and patrolling. We shared hunting and fishing stories and celebrated the American music that apparently bonded us.

Toby and I did our best to keep a stiff upper lip and a positive attitude as we emotionally dealt with such a sacred time with many warriors with life-threatening injuries. We were moved.

Most importantly, continually listening to people who claim to support the troops but condemn and even dismiss the war on terror, I was totally fortified in my confidence that the cause for which these men and women fight is without doubt just and proper.

You see, I'm just a guitar player. So instead of guessing or relying on uneducated emotion, I believe my opinion should be based on the best information I can find on any given subject — particularly when the subject is freedom and justice and those heroes willing to volunteer and possibly sacrifice their lives for such noble causes.

The last thing I want to do is improperly or irresponsibly misstate or misinform anyone in my statements to the media or in my writings.

So I put my heart and soul into digging as deep as I can, researching the facts to the best of my ability and finding those souls most dedicated to the truth.

Historical and current evidence scrutinized is surely a good basis for opinion, but nothing quite compares to information shared by actual hands-on combatants in the front lines of the war on terror.

I so respect these bright, incredibly sophisticated, gung-ho military professionals. They obviously put their hearts and souls into researching the post-9/11 world, so maybe, just maybe, their decision to volunteer stands to be more meaningful than the motives of some U.S.-bashing punk like Michael Moore and his ilk.

The intimate, inside dialogue these brave men and women have shared with me brings me to a single conclusion: The terrorists and those who support them in any way must be destroyed at all costs.

Peace and love and security are procured by killing those who would interfere with such quality of life, and that is exactly what the U.S. military heroes are doing.

Fighting the evil terrorists and tyrants who have held Muslims back to a life of slavery and misery, locked in the 17th century, clearly is the only hope we have to beat down the maniacal extremists who vow to destroy America and take innocent lives around the globe.

That is what our troops are doing where they are doing it, and most people are smart enough to see this.

With the horrific images of those planes flying into the twin towers and the Pentagon still fresh in our minds, we are not about to forget the depth of evil they represent.

Todd Bolding bled to death before my eyes.

I saluted many flag-draped coffins over there. I flew home with the flag draped coffin of Lt. Col. Eric McRae and communicated with his family to say thank you on behalf of all Americans.

I remember the Alamo. I remember D-Day. I remember Iwo Jima. I remember Pearl Harbor. I remember Auschwitz. I remember 9/11/01.

I remember Todd Bolding and all who gave everything so we can be free. I side with those who face the beast. They know best.

Ted Nugent is a Waco-based musician and television show host.

The hate monger is not Ted Nugent, he obviously loves America and all it use to stand for. You liberals hate America and are totally invested in defeat. You hate the military, you hate the president and you have no ideas of your own. All the Democratic Socialist Communist party does is conduct endless investigations which have no merit and raise taxes. Liberals claim to be the elite and the educated, so lets hear your ideas to fix this country, other than give it away to the Muslims and the Mexicans and to crucify George Bush and socialize medicine. Lets not forget about Global Warming, what a SCAM. That's our Liberal public school system at work.

I didn't know I have to respect all politicians. Someone is going to run around chasing me with a bottle of clorox if I say something that offends them. Maybe I will stand together with idiots that want to decide what I have access to read. You can't tell me you need to read his column but quit trying to make it so others can't.

The Dixie Chicks stood on foreign soil, trying to boost their pathetic image with slamming a SITTING PRESIDENT, in a time of war.

Ted Nugent issued a rallying cry against a group of people who are effectively Nazis, seeking to erode the very foundation of this nation (For those needing help, that would be the US Constitution). He did this while on American soil, to a group of American fans, who had paid American dollars to see him.

Obama, Hillary and most of the other liberal candidates are far too dangerous in their positions they currently hold. As President, either of the above named could easily lead this country into total economic ruin. The tax hikes alone (required to pay for socialized medicine, 10 or 12 new government bueracracies, and bolstering sham programs), would bring most Americans to their knees. Personal freedoms would suffer far more with gun legislation (or outright bans), anti-hunting legislation, and environmental hysteria than any Patriot Act damages you could imagine.

Realistically, only Ron Paul has got what it takes to return us to the glory we once had. Something to think about there, Democrats. Harry Truman would puke at seeing what his party has become.

Let's compare the Dixie Chicks to Ted, OK. Here goes.

While brandishing musical instruments, The Dixie Chicks said:

"We're ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas."

While brandishing 2 AK47s, Ted Said:

I was in Chicago last week I said, "Hey Obama, you might want to suck on one of these, you punk?" Obama, he's a piece of s__t and I told him to suck on one of my machine guns. Let's hear it for them. I was in New York and I said, "Hey Hillary, you might want to ride one of these into the sunset you worthless b__ch." Since I'm in California, I'm gonna find Barbara Boxer she might wanna suck on my machine guns. Hey, Dianne Feinstein, ride one of these you worthless wh__e.

So, we have an expression of shame on the one hand.

And an expression of sociopathic, misogynistic, vulgar, hate speech on the other hand.

Not exactly the same thing is it?

And remember how the media jumped all over the Dixie Chicks? Why didn't they do the same for Ted? I guess that idea about the "liberal media" is just myth.

Most of you people sound like misguided little sissy's. The fact that Ted calls a spade a spade has me thinking that Waco is nothing but a bunch of liberals that can't wait to be stripped of all their rights by a bunch of left winged politicians. That is what Ted is against. Ted is a free man and wants all of us to remain free.

Why haven't you served your country, Ted? Right now my stepson is dodging IEDs with the 82nd Airborne in Baghdad. He's the brave one, not you. Your machine gun-waving stage act only illustrates your cowardice.

Here's a more accurate and complete transcription:

"Hey Obama, suck on this (holding up one of the firearms in the air) one time, ya putz. I was in Chicago last week... Here is what Nugent said as he waved two weapons over his head at one of his performances.

"Obama, he's a piece of . And I told him to suck on my machine gun ... and then I was in New York, I said, 'Hey Hillary, you might want to ride one of these into the sunset you worthless !"

In light of the recent hate video on You Tube and other palces I believe the Trib should remove this hate monger from their paper. Please write to the editor and request that sanity be returned to the Waco Trib.
