Ted Nugent: Immigration solution? Just use some common sense

Sunday, June 10, 2007

It would start with fingerprints and an IIC.

That's an immigrant identification card.

The I.D. would be for foreigners who seek to live in, work in or become citizens of the United States. That's if I were writing the immigration laws.

It would include the reciting and signing of the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States of America and denouncing any and all allegiances to other countries. But first:

If you are not a legal U.S. citizen or documented alien, you would have to complete the following actions:

* Upon passage of this legislation, you would return to your country of origin within six months at your expense. You then would register at the nearest U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service office or designated border station.

* Prior to your re-entry, a security background check would be completed that would require a passport or other legal document positively identifying you.

You'd be fingerprinted, photographed and would submit to a DNA sample.

* Within 30 days of entry you would register with the U.S. Immigration authorities or be subject to immediate deportation with no opportunity to return.

* If you have been convicted of one felony or of three or more misdemeanor offenses by any court, forget it. You would be barred from entry, as would individuals who have documented ties to criminal elements or terrorist organizations.

* Employers would have to ensure that persons they hire for any level of pay have a valid IIC.

An employer who hired a person without a valid IIC would be fined $100,000 per non-documented worker and would face two years in jail for each undocumented worker he or she employed.

* Developing, manufacturing, procuring or otherwise possessing invalid or fake IICs would be a felony with a fine of $100,000 for each false IIC and two years in prison for each fraudulent IIC.

* Persons wishing to work or otherwise reside in the U.S. would be highly encouraged to become proficient in English. States would offer driving license exams only in English. All persons would comply with states laws pertaining to owning and operating motor vehicles, motorcycles or other conveyances.

* IIC holders who wished to become citizens of the United States could do so. However, their applications would go to the back of the queue from those already in the system. Becoming a naturalized U.S. citizen takes a considerable amount of time.

* To remain as only temporary workers or reside here would have to have a valid IIC. It would have to be renewed every three years. Such persons would pay $25 a month to the U.S. Treasury. Any such person earning pay in the U.S. would be subject to all applicable tax laws.

* Persons who resided in the United States who are not U.S. citizens or did not possess a valid IIC — or other legal document (e.g. student visa) — would be deported to their countries of origin, with costs of incarceration and deportation to be paid by the guilty party. They would forever be banned from entering the United States.

* Though federal law enforcement agencies would be charged with carrying out these requirements, states would be required to fully cooperate in identification, apprehension and temporary incarceration. States failing to comply would be subject to the withholding of federal funds.

* Federal funds would be barred from legal aid and/or legal support to persons who had previously entered without proper authorization.

* Holders of IIC would not be eligible for any Social Security or other federal assistance programs until that person becomes a naturalized U.S. citizen.

The American dream comes with individual responsibilities to be an asset to this unique experiment in self-government. Bloodsuckers need not apply.

Ted Nugent is a Waco-based musician and television show host.

some possible adjustments to the nuges immigration policy.
DON'T deport the illegals, make it impractable to stay here. by
1st SEAL the damn border. NOW. if you have to use scrap box cars. with out running gear they have solid steel walls, are 50'to 90'long,are rectangular and can be placed end to end, tightly.
2nd during ROUTINE police traffic stops, any illegal who is a felon or who is wanted is arrested and deported. NOW.
3rd. close the window on sending dollars from the us to mexico.
(you'll have to out manuver the lawyers on this one)
4) stop welfare subsidies to illegals. no food stamps, no free medical.
5) change the anchor baby law. one parent MUST be a citizen for the child to be a citizen.
6) copy mexican immigration laws to fill any holes i might have missed.
you will never get the 20 million illegals to leave by themselves or by mandate. just make it not worth the effort to stay her
thank you

Dear Mr. Nugent,
My dad had written a comment for you and also had one to send to Washington. He pushed the wrong button on his computer and the wrong comment was sent to you. I hope that I get the right comment to you so here goes:
Dear Sir,
First, I would like to thank you for your comments about this big problem. I appreciate you for speaking up about it.
I would like to say that all politicians, and I am sorry to say, that includes President Bush, know how to close the southern border. However, this would start such an uproar that they do not dare to mention it. I served in the Navy for over two years on a light cruiser in the Pacific in WWII. However, I am now 85 years old and have been in a wheelchair for three years and I am too old to bring it up. If I were 30 years younger, I would light a fire under their butts! They all know what would close the border but just do not have the guts to enforce the laws that are already in the books! We could lower illegal crossings as much as 70% the first MONTH if this was done!
Sincerely, Homer H. Stark-Orange, Texas

Seems that Ted Nugent has grown up. He has some pretty sound ideas in this piece. First thing we need to do is to build the wall. BUILD THE WALL NOW! How about a wall AND a fence. The wall facing Mexico and a tall, electrified fence with razor wire about 50-100ft further inside the US. Have a road down the center for patrols (National Guard troops armed and with orders to shoot anyone who flees) and mine the space between the road and the wall. Put signs (in Spanish) facing Mexico that going over (or under) this wall is considered an invasion of the US and you will be treated as a hostile invader. Make it clear that if they want into this country they can use the front door. All the stuff Nugent said is good but the wall and fence need to be built to stop the flow NOW.

Jim:

I, like most true Americans, will personally align myself with brave men and women who are willing to put their life on the line when their country calls, not a coward who urinates and defecates his pants like your hero Nugent did. Your personal tragedies has nothing to do with my points. If America is threatened Jim do you want someone who urinates and defecates their shorts to avoid defending these rights like the coward Nugent did???????????? Is that how he defends the Constitution that he holds in such regard??????????????? Big deal he's a good neighbor - he deserves a medal of honor for that??? You're destorting the issue - Americans are coming home in flag-draped coffins, legless and armless defending the rights he says he worships and all he can provide are urine stained jockeys full of his fecal matter ???????????????? You and the coward "Nuge" need to form your own country and we veterans will sit on the side lines watching it disappear because your only way of defending it is by filling your shorts with urine and fecal matter.

The careers of some famous rock musicians have fallen apart due to drug addiction, bankruptcy, and changes in musical tastes. Ted Nugent's career collapse can be blamed on his feelings of victimization as a heterosexual white man.

Ted Nugent is to music what Jerry Falwell was to religion. Jerry's earning power remained strong throughout his life, however.

Dennis Miller is another good comparison. Lame "comedian" tries to remain relevant and save his career by walking around with a boner for Bush. In Nugent's case, it's a pathetic "musician" who sells reactionary propaganda as if it were generic Cialis.

Uncle Ted is definitely on track but it is time to look at the big picture for solutions to all of our domestic problems. Given the aftermath of Katrina our border insecurity and our alligator problem in Florida. I propose we dig a moat the entire length of our mexican border, send the dirt to New Orleans to shore up our levies, and fill the moat with the florida alligators, now we are talking border security. Three problems one solution I call that a win win win. Whack em and stack em Ted
