WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND?
Recent reader comments on local editorials:
Fred commented on "Editorial:Fighting poverty good for business" —

One idea for the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce would be to place port-a-potties on the street corners in Downtown Waco so that all the crazy, homeless people could stop urinating and deficating on the sidewalks and in the parking lots. Another idea for the Waco Chamber of Commerce would be to allow the crazy, homeless to urinate on the scrubs and landscaping around the new Chamber building in an attempt to fertilize the plants and flowers with human waste. This would be helping the homeless from a green, yellow and brown point-of-view.

knucklehead commented on "Editorial: Mammoth attraction(s)" —

How about making Dennis Michaelis the first new exhibit? He’s a dinosaur for certain.

knucklehead commented on "John Young: He who floats 'swiftboaat'" —

It only took the Trib one day to correct its mispelling of the word “swiftboat”. No wonder the Waco rag is on the auction block. Any takers out there?

BDDH commented on "Editorial: Curb corn-based ethanol" —

Here is our solution — from WIRED magazine:

Driven: Shai Agassi’s Audacious Plan to Put Electric Cars on the Road

Now it’s Agassi’s turn. He starts off uncharacteristically nervous, stammering a bit. He’s got something different, he says. A new approach. He believes it just might be possible to get the entire world off oil. For good. Point by point, gaining speed as he goes, he shares for the first time in public the ideas that will change his future—and possibly the world’s.

BDDH commented on "Editorial: Pump prices, traffic deaths" —

Now if our speed limits would be lowered from 70 and 80 to 60, there would be even less traffic deaths and less fuel consumption. We lived with 55 mph for 20 years; we can do it again.

Fred commented on "Editorial: State should halt power cut-offs" —

Too much profit. Not enough service. Brown-outs are TXU’s laziness and selfishness.
