Ida Josephine Witt

Sept. 1, 1923 - July 14, 2017

On July 14, 2017, Ida Josephine Cavitt Witt, surrounded by those who loved her, went home to be with her Lord. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 18, at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum, graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Services will be officiated by Bo Faulkner.

"Jo" was born September 1, 1923 in Duffau, Texas, to Enoch and Annie Cavitt. She left central Texas, at age 15, and spent her adult life with her beloved husband, Jim, in Los Angeles, El Paso, and Phoenix, before living the final years of her life in Robinson, Texas.

Jo was a devoted mother and grandmother, and an active member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church for years. She was a fantastic cook, and was well known for her tasty pies. She loved animals, especially her cats, and was passionate about gardening. In fact, she maintained her own yard until the last few years of her life.

Jo was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, James "Bill" Witt; her nine brothers and sisters; her son, Terry L. Witt; and her granddaughter, Candace Adams. She is survived by daughters, Jerry Ann Hunt and Shelly Claybrook; son, Rickey Witt; eight grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
