Mary Nell "Aunt Nay Nay" passed away Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017. Viewing will be from 5-6 p.m. Fri., Dec. 8 at Dorsey-Keatts FH in Marlin, and Sat. Dec. 9 from 10-11 a.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Hammond, TX with funeral services immediately following at 11 a.m. The Rev. Anthony Harper will officiate, and Eulogy by Pastor John Edwards.
Mary Nell was born to Arthur Lee and Nellie Turner in Hammond, Robinson County, Texas. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Bethlehem Baptist Church in Hammond, TX and later became a faithful member of Shilo Primitive Baptist Church where she served until God called her home.
She met and married James Ellis Taylor on May 25, 1961 and to this union five children were born. They were married 41 years before he preceded her in death on March 27, 2002. Mary Nell was a graduate of Love High School. She was from Bremond, TX, a homemaker, enjoyed soap operas, and reading the newspaper. She was a mother of the church, part of the women's mission, helped deliver Meals on Wheels, and prepared meals for the fellowship hall events.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings; and four grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memories: sons, Ellis Patrick (Helen) Taylor, James Darren (Gina) Taylor, Arthur Andy Taylor, Van Allen Taylor, Grace Evet (William) Allen; two brothers, Clarence Turner and Charlie Turner; and sister-in-law, Caroline Edwards.
