Tamara Romano

Tamara "Tami" Romano, a beautiful spirit, 44, of Lakeway, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 9, 2014. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 13, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home, 8220 Woodway Drive, in Waco. Interment will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 12, at Grace Gardens Funeral Home.

Tamara was born in Waco, Texas on February 8, 1970. After graduating from Midway High School, she continued her education and received her Real Estate License. Tamara made real estate her life's work and was planning to pursue a career in cosmetology. She had a heart of gold and thrived on helping others achieve their goals. Her fun-loving personality won the hearts of all she met. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her cherished son, Spencer; reading; volunteering for people with special needs; watching crime dramas; going to the beach; and shopping. She was also actively involved in her church, Lake Hills Church, of Austin, Texas.

Tamara is preceded in death by grandparents, Shirley and John Blackburn, and Grace and Robert Romano; and great-grandmother, Idal Sliva.

Tamara is survived by her son, Spencer Parrett of Lakeway; fianc�, Manuel Mier of Lakeway; parents, Michael and Sharon Romano of Waco; siblings, Nikki Oates and husband, David, of Waco, Christi Tharpe and husband, Kelly, of Waco, Gina Jones and husband, Greg, of Waco; uncle, John Blackburn Jr.; aunt, Karon Phelps; cousin, John Surley and Lisa; nephew, Owen Oates; niece, Mia Tharpe and Milan Mier; Gary and Cameron Turner; and numerous friends who were loved like family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Special Olympics or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
