Billie Wedgeworth Ives, passed away in Waco, Texas, on Nov. 28, 2017, at the age of 89. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, December 8, at Tallowood Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. The first child of Roy and Bernie Wedgeworth,

Billie was born on July 30, 1928, in Nacogdoches, Texas. She spent her early years in Bangs, Frankston, and Baytown, Texas. She was a 1946 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown. Billie met her husband, Bob, in Spanish class, her sophomore year while attending Baylor University. She graduated from Baylor in 1950 with a BS in Biology. Upon graduation, she completed her post-graduate work in Medical Technology at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Texas. Billie and Bob married in Baytown, Texas, on June 29, 1951, and lived there until they moved to Houston in 1954. After 63 years in Houston, Billie and Bob returned to Waco, the place where they first met. Prior to becoming a mother, Billie worked as a medical technologist; she later returned to the medical field and retired in 1987. She joined Tallowood Baptist Church in 1963, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and participated in medical mission trips to Mexico. Billie enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad. Her most treasured trips were those spent with family and friends in Rocky Mountain National Park. Cruising later became her passion as it was a perfect way to combine her love of family and travel.

She was preceded in death by son, Robert Franklin Ives; and parents, Roy and Bernie Wedgeworth.

Billie is survived by her husband of 66 years, Bob Ives of Waco; daughters, Laurie Graham and husband, Andy, of Spicewood, Texas and Karen Baldwin and husband, Michael, of China Spring, Texas. She is also fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Michael Graham and wife, Traci, Matthew Graham and wife, Kathryn, Andrew Baldwin, and Sarah Baldwin; three great-grandchildren, Rebekah, Hannah, and Joshua Graham; brother, Roy Wedgeworth and wife, Joy; and nephew, Joe Wedgeworth.
