Twenty years have passed… passed to where, I do not know.
Time is consistent…even though we may think not.
Our friend or our foe….maybe so.
Then, it seemed so slow, now so fast,
Even though we shun change, change surely comes-Yet some things remain the same.
The sight, sound and touch are gone,
But that has not diminished my love for you. Yes, it is different…As you dwell within my heart and soul… without fail.
So long ago, yet all so fresh – both, how can it be?
Your physical absence, your spiritual presence make both real!
God has altered the paths of many because of you…But you already knew, especially me, for the betterment of us all.
I'm thankful your unselfish nature had seen…An intervention need - for me, since that dreaded day.
You know exactly what I mean!
In just a while, 70 days more, God's mystery, marriage, 50 years to be.
Yes, I still count them all,
Part of my core, and always will.
I will go on loving you until my time is due,
Then I'll know the love you've had for oh so long!
