Postcards often offer glimpse into Waco's past
By Terri Jo Ryan Tribune-Herald staff writer
Springtime in Waco brings back memories of a time when many a photographer of the distant past plied his or her trade in scenes deemed “pretty as a postcard.”
The colorful history and stunning sights of Waco, once called “Six Shooter Junction,” have been documented here for more than a century.
Starting a collection of Waco-centric postcards is as easy — and expensive — as surfing eBay or other Internet sites trading in vintage views of bygone eras.
Or one could touch base with local collector and postal aficionado Dave Keel at DKeel@hot.rr.com, or call him at 756-1558.
