Patriotic pictures for the July 4 weekend
By Terri Jo Ryan
Tribune-Herald staff writer
Red, white and blue have been some of Waco’s favorite colors virtually from its founding in 1849. Waves of patriotic fervor have swept the city during the heightened tensions of war and the years of peace.
A glimpse back at Waco’s past celebrations of Flag Day, July Fourth and other soul-stirring occasions provides an opportunity to reflect on the glories of a nation built on truth, justice and liberty.
