More famous faces in Waco places
By Terri Jo Ryan
Tribune-Herald staff writer
Since Waco’s days as Six Shooter Junction, this Brazos River city has seen its share of visiting celebrities. For show business performers, itinerant tent preachers and campaigning politicians, Waco was a necessary stop on the road to future success.
Brazos Past will continue to share some of these tales in coming months, and is seeking additional photographs.
Do you have pictures from when Louis Armstrong played at Taborian Park? Or from the time “Star Trek” stars William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy visited the Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo? We’d love to see them.
Send your submissions — with your full name and contact information — to reporter Terri Jo Ryan at tjryan@wacotrib.com, or call 757-5746 for more information.
