Chamber to celebrate Juneteenth today

The Cen-Tex African American Chamber of Commerce’s annual Juneteenth Celebration will start at 10 a.m. today with a parade along Elm Avenue, before heading across the Washington Avenue Bridge to Indian Spring Park.

Opening ceremonies at 11 a.m. will be followed by events such as a children’s section, music, line dancing and other activities. Gospelfest at 7:30 p.m. will feature the groups The McCoys and Smooth Jazz Generation.

The event is free and open to the public.
