Representatives of the YMCA of Central Texas recently celebrated TXU Energy’s $5,000 donation to support the YMCA’s 2017 summer enrichment programs.
The contribution helped the YMCA provide resources that included academic, leadership and physical fitness programs for approximately 300 children in Waco and McLennan County.
TXU Energy has a legacy of strengthening and empowering the communities where it does business and where its customers live and work, the company said in a news release.
Rodney Martin, YMCA of Central Texas president and CEO, and Melvin Carter, YMCA of Central Texas branch executive, accepted the donation from Mance Zachary, TXU Energy government affairs director, Kimberly Hilley, TXU Energy community affairs manager, and Leigh Martinez, TXU Energy sales executive.
District 1 Councilman Noah Jackson Jr. represented the city of Waco.
