Waco police are investigating an aggravated robbery of the 7-Eleven convenience store at 701 S. University Parks Drive early Saturday morning.

Officers responded to a report of a man entering the store at 2:15 a.m. wearing a ski mask, Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton wrote in a press release.

The man reportedly approached the counter, where a customer was standing, and ordered the clerk to hand over the money in the register, Swanton said.

“The suspect kept grabbing at his waist as if he had a gun but did not display one,” Swanton said. “After he had the cash, the suspect then ordered the clerk to give him a pack of Newport cigarettes.”

The man was last seen fleeing on foot southbound behind the store.

No injuries were reported, and no arrest had been made by Saturday evening.
