A 19-year-old Waco man was arrested after he refused to leave his former girlfriend alone and sent her hundreds of electronic messages this fall, Robinson Police Chief Phillip Prasifka said.

Charlton Duane Mashburn was arrested after a 19-year-old woman told police that her ex-boyfriend entered her home off Saffle Road on or about Sept. 19 without her permission at about 3:30 a.m. while she was home.

Prasika said the woman was startled by Mashburn's presence and told him several times to leave before he finally left the property.

The woman said about a month later, Mashburn started following her and her friends and began sending her hundreds of electronic communications, according to the chief. Prasifka said communications referenced the Sept. 19 incident and the woman began to fear for her safety.

Robinson police received warrants for Mashburn's arrest after additional investigation, Prasifka said. He was arrested by police Tuesday on a third-degree felony charge of stalking and a Class A misdemeanor criminal trespassing charge.

Mashburn was booked into McLennan County Jail on a $15,000 bond. He remained in custody Wednesday afternoon.
