A Waco man was arrested over the weekend for two summer sexual assaults against a woman after the suspect and woman both tested positive for the same sexually transmitted disease, arrest affidavits state.

Jacob Martinez, 29, was arrested Saturday on two second-degree felony charges of sexual assault for two alleged sexual assaults of a woman in July and August, the affidavit states. Police reported that Martinez assaulted the woman more than once, including once when she was at home while family members were asleep.

According to the affidavits, the woman confronted Martinez after speaking with family members. Martinez allegedly denied the allegations, claiming the woman "had no reason why the victim would say this against him."

Martinez took an STD test, which tested positive for the same STD that the woman had tested positive for, the affidavit states. Police received arrest warrants for Martinez on Jan. 22 and he was arrested Saturday.

Martinez remained Monday in the McLennan County Jail with a bond listed at $102,000. He was also being held on unrelated child-support warrants, according to jail logs.
