Police are investigating a robbery of a local jewelry store Tuesday afternoon, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

Officers were called to Boozer’s Jewelers, 1025 N. Valley Mills Drive, shortly after 12:40 p.m. A man entered the business, asked to see a piece of jewelry and grabbed at least one piece when it was being displayed to him, Swanton said. The man, described to be in his late 20s, ran from the store with the jewelry and got into a waiting car, he said.

“He fled the scene with that jewelry, exited the store and got into a car driven by a female,” Swanton said. “No one was injured, and the vehicle was last seen driving southbound on Valley Mills Drive.”

There was no report of a weapon being displayed during the robbery. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
