Police arrested a home burglary suspect Tuesday afternoon after a homeowner called police during an attempted break-in, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

Germarkee Satterwhite, 24, was arrested after a homeowner called police to report a person was breaking into his home in the 1100 block of La Porte Drive. Swanton said police arrived at the house, and Satterwhite ran from the back of the home, where he was trying to gain access through a window.

Officers followed Satterwhite from the home and were able to catch up with him and arrest him.

Satterwhite was arrested on a second-degree felony charge of attempted burglary of a habitation. He was taken to McLennan County Jail, where he remained Tuesday evening.

Bond information was not immediately available.
