A 56-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after a family member told police the man had sexually assaulted a girl under the age of 10, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

Freddie Lee Jones, of Waco, was arrested at a South Waco home the day police received the report, Swanton said. The girl was an acquaintance of Jones, he said.

Police arrested Jones on a first-degree felony charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child. He remained in McLennan County Jail on Wednesday afternoon with bond listed at $75,000.
