A Waco man was arrested Thursday after he sexually assaulted an 8-year-old girl at a Lacy Lakeview apartment several years ago, an arrest affidavit states.

Timothy Lamar Crook, 44, was arrested after Lacy Lakeview police received a Child Protective Services report about a young girl who reported Crook sexually abused her on at least three occasions, possibly between August 2014 and April 2015. The girl told officials she believed she was 8 at the time of the abuse, but only one of the incidents happened in Lacy Lakeview, the affidavit states.

The affidavit states Crook touched the girl inappropriately while he watched a movie with her in the living room and her siblings were playing elsewhere.

Crook was arrested on a first-degree felony charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child. He was taken to McLennan County Jail, where he remained Thursday. No bond information was listed.

Lacy Lakeview Police Chief John Truehitt said agencies in other jurisdictions are actively investigating allegations against Crook, and Lacy Lakeview is sharing information with those agencies.
