A 62-year-old man was arrested after a 3-year-old boy reported last month the man had touched him inappropriately, an arrest affidavit states.

James Edward Thomas, of Mart, was arrested Wednesday after family members told police Feb. 19 about the boy's statements.

A medical exam showed no physical evidence of sexual abuse, but the boy continued to make statement about Thomas abusing him, the affidavit states.

Police interviewed other acquaintances of Thomas who said Thomas had made sexual advances toward them when they were younger, according to the affidavit. Other witnesses told police Thomas told them he had sexually abused other people and that he would try to get help, the affidavit states.

Police arrested Thomas on a second-degree felony charge of indecency with a child. He was released from McLennan County Jail on a $25,000 bond by Thursday night.
