A driver who appeared to have suffered a medical episode crashed into a North Waco home near the intersection of North 29th Street and Colcord Avenue Saturday morning, Waco police Officer Lonnie Underberg said.

Emergency responders were called to the 2800 block of Colcord Avenue when a driver struck the northwest corner of a house. At the house, police found that a Chevy Impala crashed through a portion of a privacy fence, struck the house and possibly damaged a natural gas line connected to the home.

Underberg said the preliminary investigation indicated the driver may have suffered a medical episode while he was driving east on Colcord Avenue. Police believe the man may have tried to turn north onto 29th Street, but drove over the curb, through a yard and struck the house.

The man did not suffer any serious injuries and was not taken to a local hospital, Underberg said. There were occupants inside the home at the time of the crash, but no one was injured.
