Texas Department of Public Safety troopers are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a 60-year-old Cameron man early Tuesday morning, DPS Sgt. D.L. Wilson said.

Authorities were called to the single-vehicle crash on State Highway 6, a half mile west of Battle Lake Road, shortly before 7 a.m. when a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado was found in a ditch. Wilson said the truck had extensive damage.

Troopers believe the driver was traveling west when his truck drifted into a ditch on the north side of the road, struck a culvert and rolled several times, Wilson said.

The driver was the only person in the truck and was pronounced dead at the scene, Wilson said. His name was not immediately available.
