A 21-year-old Bellmead man was arrested Thursday, accused of sexually assaulting a girl who was 16 years old in October, an arrest affidavit states.

Christopher Michael Castillo Jr. was arrested after Bellmead police got an anonymous tip stating Castillo was having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl, the affidavit states. During the investigation, detectives spoke to both Castillo and the girl, who both said they had sex twice during the month of October, according to the affidavit.

Because of the girl’s age, police issued an arrest warrant for Castillo. He was arrested Thursday on a second-degree felony charge of sexual assault of a child and was taken to McLennan County Jail.

Castillo remained jailed Friday with bond listed at $25,000.
