A Bellmead Family Dollar store was robbed Tuesday night, police Sgt. Kory Martin said.

A man entered the store in the East Gate Plaza shopping center at 8:47 p.m. and started asking an employee questions, Martin said. The employee saw a knife in the man’s pocket, but he did not display it, he said.

The man then asked the employee to put the money from the register in a bag, and the employee complied, Martin said. The suspect then left the store, he said.

The employee told police the suspect is black, about 6 feet tall, 250 pounds and has a tattoo of a cross on his forehead, Martin said. He wore a black hoodie and black jeans at the time of the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Bellmead police.
