A Lorena sex offender was arrested Tuesday by the Texas Attorney General's Office Child Exploitation Unit on charges of possession of child pornography, officials said.

Thomas Lee Scott, 58, was arrested when members of the AG’s office executed a search warrant at his home in the 1600 block of South Old Temple Road at about 10:30 a.m. Officials said they collected evidence tied to an ongoing child pornography investigation and took Scott into custody without incident.

Lorena Police Chief Tom Dickson said Lorena officers and McLennan County sheriff's deputies assisted in the search.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Lee is required to register as a sex offender for two child molestation convictions in Indiana in April 1991 involving a 5-year-old girl and a 7-year-old girl. He is required to maintain his registration for his lifetime.

Scott was arrested on two third-degree felony charges of possession of child pornography and remained in McLennan County Jail on Tuesday. No bond information was immediately listed.
