A woman was arrested after she told authorities that she was "free now" after starting a fire inside her RV camper Saturday afternoon, an arrest affidavit states.

Glenda Renea Smith, 30, of West, was arrested after McLennan County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to Waco North RV Park, 24132 N. Interstate 35, shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday when the camper caught fire, the affidavit states. Smith, who was identified as the occupant of the camper, was questioned by a deputy and said she started the fire.

"While questioning her about what happened, she stated to me that she was free now," the deputy stated in the affidavit. "I then asked her if she had started the fire to the camper on purpose and she stated that she did."

Smith said that she was trying to burn the camper down, the affidavit states. No additional motive was listed in the affidavit.

Authorities arrested Smith on a second-degree felony charge of arson and she was taken to McLennan County Jail. She remained jailed Monday afternoon with a bond listed at $50,000.
