Baylor Round Table to host annual tea

The Baylor University Round Table executive board and First Lady Mrs. Alice Starr (far right) are co-hosting the annual Round Table Membership Tea, “Cultivating and Connecting Through Friendship . . . Round Table, which is open to Baylor women faculty and executive staff and the wives of Baylor faculty and executive staff, assists in the development of the university’s cultural and social life, in addition to raising student scholarship funds.

A.J. Moore receives $2,500 engineering grant

Mike Estepp, Kelly Services district manager, presents A.J. Moore Academy engineering teacher Ronald Tipton and his class with a $2,500 check for the Academy of Engineering. A.J. Moore Academy is a magnet high school in Waco ISD, and its Academy of Engineering provides students with exposure to careers in architectural, civil, chemical, computer, electrical, industrial, mechanical, structural and manufacturing engineering.

A helping hand

New teachers at La Vega ISD received a $50 check to help with expenses in setting up their new classrooms. The funds were donated by the Bellmead Lions Club, the Bellmead Chamber of Commerce and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. 60 years of Lion service

Lin Mills (right) recently received an award from Lions International for 60 years of service as a Lion. The award was presented by Terry Sutcliffe, president of the Waco Founder Lions Club. The 60-year chevron award was accompanied by a letter of congratu-lations from Lions International President Eberhard Wirfs. Mills was president of the Founder Lions Club in 1997-98.

Remembering the Constitution
