‘Spring training’ session

VOICE, a nonprofit group that serves an eight-county area, including McLennan, Bosque and Falls counties, held “Spring Training,” a free day-camp program during spring break for elementary-aged students at Waco’s Calvary Baptist Church. VOICE held the program the last four years in Navarro County; this was its first year in Waco. For more information about the group, go to www.voiceinc.org.

Woodway kids raise funds with Jump for Heart

Woodway Elementary students raised $14,469.67 for the American Heart Association through their annual “Jump Rope For Heart” campaign. During Jump Rope For Heart children have fun jumping rope, learning about their hearts and how to keep them healthy, while raising donations for the American Heart Association. Sarah Ali (right) was the top fundraising student at the school.
