Target representatives present a $1,000 check from the Target Foundation to Rapoport Academy for the school’s “Right Choices” program, which goes toward the purchase and start-up of a salad bar for students and staff. An additional $1,000 was awarded by the Texas Department of Agriculture as part of its “Let’s Move Salad Bars 2 Schools” initiative. Rapoport Academy will add fruits, vegetables and salad dressings to its lunches. The “self-select” salad bar also allows for the inclusion of fresh vegetables and herbs grown in the high school and middle school gardens.
