Baylor University is launching a new online MBA program this spring, an effort officials say will further expand the university’s brand recognition.
The Hankamer School of Business is accepting applications for the inaugural class, which would begin in May.
Baylor will admit a new class group every two months, said Gary Carini, associate dean of graduate programs for the business school.
Carini said he hopes to attract at least 20 students for the first class group.
The 12-month online MBA degree will cost students around $50,000, compared to about $90,000 for Baylor’s traditional and executive MBA programs.
Carini said Baylor eventually will offer scholarships for online students whose employers enter certain partnership agreements with the university, though those plans have not been finalized.
