A Robinson woman was killed and a man was critically injured Monday night when the motorcycle they were riding was involved in a collision with a pickup truck.

Robinson Police Chief Rusty Smith identified the woman killed as 56-year-old Jeanne Trowbridge, and the injured man as 52-year-old Neal Trowbridge, both of Robinson.

The two were on a motorcycle that was stopped at a red light at Peplow Drive and Robinson Drive about 9:30 p.m., when the driver of the pickup truck, a 51-year-old area resident, failed to stop and struck the motorcycle from behind, Smith said.

The couple on the motorcycle were taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, where Jeanne Towbridge died about 12:30 a.m., Smith said. Her riding companion was in surgery Tuesday morning, he said.

A hospital spokesman said Neal Trowbridge was listed in serious condition late Tuesday afternoon.

No charges or citations have been filed in the incident, which remains under investigation, Smith said.

Officials have requested the assistance of the Texas Department of Public Safety.
