Area fire departments continued to battle a fire near Waco Regional Airport that damaged a home and spread into nearby pastures Monday evening evening, local fire crews said.

Firefighters from China Spring, Waco, Speegleville and Valley Mills were called to a home near Horseshoe Bend Road and Cloverland shortly before 3:30 p.m. China Spring Volunteer Fire Department Chief Scott Needler said a home caught fire and continued to spread into surrounding pastures and brush.

Fire crews remained on site through 7 p.m., battling the blaze, Needler said. No additional details were available Monday night.
