'Crash course' on vegetable gardening, tomatoes offered

A vegetable gardening and tomato “crash course” will be held from 1-4:30 p.m. April 5, at the Carleen Bright Arboretum, 9001 Bosque Blvd.

Guest speaker will be Joe Masabani, Texas AgriLife Extension Service vegetable specialist.

Masabani will cover such topics as which tomato varieties work best in Central Texas, soil preparation, insect and disease control and more.

The program is free and open to the public.
