POLICE NEWS: Woman charged with child endangerment
By Don Bolding Tribune-Herald staff writer
Jennifer Miller, 29, was in McLennan County Jail on Monday on two charges of endangering a child after neighbors called Waco police to report two small girls inside a residence knocking on a window and asking for help.

Jennifer Miller, 29, was charged with two counts of child endangerment.
Bond was set at $25,000 on each charge.
Police affidavits filed in each child’s case said Miller locked the children in their room for throwing a tantrum.
Police answering the call to the residence said the house was “extremely hot” and had no electricity.
The affidavits said several appliances were plugged into an extension cord leading to a neighbor’s house, causing a fire hazard. One room had a small air conditioner.
The affidavits said, “The residence was filled with dirty clothes, trash, dirty diapers and old food.”
Child Protective Services investigators said they saw live rats in the house, the affidavits said. At least one of the children told CPS workers they get frightened because their mother sleeps a lot, the affidavits said.
The children told CPS they were happy for the inquiry because the family needed help, the affidavits said.
Police did not give the address of the residence.
The affidavits alleged the conditions in the house put the children in imminent danger of death or bodily injury.
