North Waco house fire extinguished quickly; residents displaced
By Don Bolding Tribune-Herald staff writer
Waco firefighters extinguished a blaze at a home at 1502 Windsor about 2 p.m. Sunday, Assistant Fire Chief Patrick Kerwin said.
Four engines, another truck and a command vehicle answered the call beginning at 1:45 p.m. and extinguished the fire in a matter of minutes but remained on the scene about two hours, he said.
One bedroom of the two-bedroom structure sustained heavy fire, smoke and water damage, with minor damage to the other bedroom and the living room. The attic suffered moderate damage.
Kerwin said two of the five residents of the single-family house were home at the time but escaped with no injuries.
The residents were displaced, and the Red Cross found temporary shelter for them. Their names were not available.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
