Chores, play can help children burn calories

About 15 percent of American children ages 6 to 19 are overweight, and almost half of young Americans ages 12 to 21 are not active on a regular basis. Over the past 30 years, the percentage of overweight children ages 6 to 11 has more than doubled, according to the Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
