The Waco Veterans Day Parade will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the corner of Eighth Street and Austin Avenue.
The parade will move north on Austin Avenue to Heritage Square.
For those unable to attend, the parade will be televised live on the Waco City Cable Channel (Time Warner channel 10; Grande channels 10 and 410 (HD).
Donations sought
Celebration of Love, A Fort Hood-based nonprofit organization, will have a box set up at Heart of the Brazos Oral & Facial Surgery, 103 Burnett Court in Woodway to collect donations of tricycles, bicycles, Sam’s Club and Wal-Mart gift cards for children of military personnel. Condolence and get well cards can also be dropped off for soldiers and their families.

Zoo story time
The Hewitt Public Library will have a special zoo day story time at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Hewitt Community Center, 208 Chama Drive in Hewitt.
Representatives from Cameron Park Zoo will be present with animals.

Watercolor society
Cheryle Chaplaine will present a “Creation of Miniature Masterpieces Made for Mailing” workshop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday in the meeting room of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit, 1624 Wooded Acres Drive.
The workshop is sponsored by the Central Texas Watercolor Society.

The Greater Hewitt Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a “Breakfast Blender” at 7 a.m. Nov. 18 at the Hewitt Community Center, 208 Chama Drive in Hewitt.

The Waco Parks and Recreation Department will honor local veterans at a meeting of the Breakfast Club at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Bledsoe-Miller Recreation Center, 300 Martin Luther King Blvd.
The discussion topic will be “Serving with Pride.” All veterans may attend.
