A man died in a one-vehicle rollover late Friday night near Lott.

Rex Allen Conners, 21, was driving east on County Road 406, just east of U.S. Highway 77, at 11:40 p.m. when, for unknown reasons, he drove off the left side of the road, a Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman said.

Conners then overcorrected, first to the right and then to the left, before going into a side skid and rolling his 1999 Toyota pickup several times, the spokesman said. He was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident, he said.

Conners, who lived on County Road 404 near Lott, was taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2 a.m. by Justice of the Peace Kristi DeCluitt, the spokesman said.

Troopers are investigating whether speed was a factor in the accident, he said.
