The National Public Radio show “From the Top,” which showcases America’s top young classical musicians, will be at Baylor University’s Jones Hall at 7 p.m. Wednesday to record a radio broadcast that will air nationally the week of Dec. 14.

The program will feature performances from six young classical musicians, including 16-year-old violinist and fiddling champion Mia Orosco from Lorena.

Tickets cost $20 and are available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the Jones Concert Hall box office in Baylor’s Glennis McCrary Music Building.

Got old holiday photos?

The holidays are just around the corner, and the Trib’s Brazos Past would like to see your delightful photos of Decembers to remember for its Dec. 19 edition.

To submit your holiday images, taken at least 30 years ago, e-mail them to tjryan@wacotrib.com no later than Dec. 4 or deliver them in person to the Tribune-Herald, 900 Franklin Ave.

Be sure to include your contact information, and identify the people in the picture as well as the year it was taken.

Youth symphony concert

The Waco Symphony Youth Orchestra will present its free 2009 fall concert at 4 p.m. today at Baylor’s Jones Hall in the Glennis McCrary Music Building.

Soap-making class

Art Center Waco, 1300 College Drive, is offering a handmade soaps class from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Cost is $35. Class size will be limited to six people.

Autism network meeting

The Heart of Texas Autism Network will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at 1029 Ivy Square Shopping Center, Interstate 35 and University-Parks Drive.

Precinct 1 road work

Commissioner Kelly Snell reports that the following road work is scheduled in Precinct 1 for this week:

* Blading in various areas precinctwide.

* Patching in the Moody area.

* Shredding in the Bruce-ville-Eddy area.

* Ditch work in various areas precinctwide.

* Asphalt work at Mackey Ranch Road and Franklin Road.

* Litter pickup in the Lorena area.
