SpaceX, which tests rockets in McGregor, will conduct a second test of its Falcon 9 nine-engine rocket cluster sometime today.
SpaceX said in a statement that the 30-second test should produce about the same level of noise as a successful 10-second test Monday.

Students get in free
The Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo will be open from 4 to 11 p.m. today at the HOT Fairgrounds, 4601 Bosque Blvd.
* The day will feature free admission through 8 p.m. for McLennan County students with a school coupon. Admission costs $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 3 to 12 and is free for children 2 and younger.
* Dodge Show Pavilion: American Scramble Heifer Scramble at 2 p.m.
* Bud Light Music Stage: Kyle Park at 8 p.m. and Randy Rogers Band at 9:30 p.m.

Women voters meeting
Dr. Johnette McKown, president of McLennan Community College, will speak to the Waco-area League of Women Voters at 6 tonight in room 314 of the science building at MCC.
McKown will discuss the school’s “green” science building, the growth of MCC and the school’s partnerships with university programs.

Hunger Coalition event
McLennan County Hunger Coalition is sponsoring a Fast of Caring event Friday to commemorate World Food Day.
Participants are asked to skip lunch and donate the cost of the meal to the MCHC or a local food pantry.
For those who want to fast together, a brief program about hunger and a kick off for the Texas Hunger Initiative will be presented from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. Friday at Heritage Square.

2009 Walk MS/5K
The 2009 Walk MS/5K will be Saturday at Cameron Park Zoo, 1701 N. Fourth St. Registration will begin at 7 a.m., the certified 5K at 7:45 a.m., and the walk at 8 a.m.
The 1K walk is free, and the 5K costs $25. To register, visit www.walkmstexas.org.
The family event will include bounce houses, music, snow cones and food.

Hair Bows 101
Art Center Waco, 1300 College Drive, is offering Hair Bows 101 from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Participants will learn to make a variety of hair bows, including loopy loops and corker bows.
The class is billed as an afternoon for women to spend with their daughters, granddaughters and nieces. Cost is $40 (members $35) and includes all supplies.
