The Girl Scouts Greater Waco Service Unit will have a spaghetti dinner and silent auction fundraiser from 5 to 8 tonight at Lakewood Christian Church, 6509 Bosque Blvd.

Cost is $6 for a plate of spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert and a drink. Auction bidding will end at 7:30 p.m.

Proceeds from the event will help fund the Scouts’ 2010 Grand Canyon trip.

‘Patsy Cline’ show

The Waco Performing Arts Company will present “A Closer Walk With Patsy Cline” at 7:30 tonight at the Waco Hippodrome Theatre, 724 Austin Ave.

Tickets cost $29 to $49.

Senior talent contest

Meals & Wheels is sponsoring a Senior Star Search competition at 1 p.m. today at Central United Methodist Church, 5740 Bagby Ave.

The event will feature senior citizens in a talent competition.

The free event is open to the public.

Free bird-watching trip

The Central Texas Audubon Society is sponsoring a free bird-watching field trip Sunday to the Richland Chambers Wildlife Management Area near Fairfield.

Participants will meet at 1 p.m. in the Luby’s parking lot, at the corner of Interstate 35 and Lake Shore Drive, to carpool to the site.

The group will return to Waco about 7 p.m. Guests should bring their own snacks and drinks.

Marlin barbecue

Marlin Masonic Lodge 152, at 204 Virginia St., will have its annual barbecue fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

Cost is $7 for a plate of one-half barbecue chicken, potato salad, beans and bread.

Proceeds will be used to support scholarships and other charitable endeavors.
