The Greater Hewitt Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a community expo and car show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Midway Middle School, 800 Hewitt Drive.
The free event will feature more than 40 local business booths, food, live entertainment, a childrens’ bicycle rodeo from 10 a.m. to noon and a car show from noon to 4 p.m.

‘Just Give Me Jesus’
“Just Give Me Jesus,” a two-day women’s revival featuring Anne Graham Lotz, will be conducted from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Baylor University’s Ferrell Center, 1900 S. University-Parks Drive.

Retirement group speech
Scott Drew, men’s basketball coach at Baylor University, will be the guest speaker at Baylor’s Lifelong Learning in Retirement program’s fall reception and convocation at 10 a.m. Friday at the Hughes-Dillard Alumni Center, 1212 S. University-Parks Drive.

University High pep rally
University High School, 2600 Bagby Ave., is sponsoring a homecoming community pep rally from 6:30 to 8 tonight at the school.
The free rally will include music, performances, food, games and community informational booths.

Newcomers group lunch
The Newcomers and Neighbors group will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ridgewood Country Club, 7301 Fish Pond Road.
Cost is $15, which includes lunch. An RSVP is required by 5 p.m. Friday.

Children’s golf tourney
Waco Center for Youth is sponsoring its annual “We’re Swingin’ for Kids” golf tournament Sept. 17 at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course, 5200 Bagby Ave.
Registration will be at 11 a.m., lunch at noon and tee-off at 1 p.m. Cost is $75 per player or $300 for a four-person team. Sponsorships also are available.

Masonic fish fry
Waco Masonic Lodge 92, 4324 Cobbs Drive, will have its monthly fish fry from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
The all-you-can-eat meal of fish, hush puppies, fries, fried jalapenos and onion rings costs $7.50 for adults and $5 for kids and uniformed military.
Takeout will be available.
