Baylor University’s Mayborn Museum Complex, 1300 S. University-Parks Drive, will have a “Best of da Vinci Days” event from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Cost is $6 for adults and $4 for kids ages 12 and younger.

Hunter education class

McLennan Community College will present a Texas hunter education class from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 15 at MCC’s CSC Building, 4601 N. 19th St.

Those who complete the course will get a lifetime certification card. Participants must attend all three sessions.

The cost is $20. To register, call 299-8888.

Lodge fish fry

Hillsboro Masonic Lodge 196 will have a fish-fry fundraiser from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lodge, 212 Happy Lane in Hillsboro.

Cost is $8 for adults, or $4 for kids ages 11 and younger, for a meal of fried fish, fries, hush puppies and more.

A raffle for $500, $300 and $200 Visa cards will follow the meal. Tickets cost $5, or $10 for three.

Benefit in Elm Mott

A benefit for Hubert “Squab” and Jane Shannon will be from 3 p.m. to midnight Saturday at Linden Hall, 722 Leroy Parkway in Elm Mott.

Hubert Shannon has battled colon cancer and two strokes. Jane Shannon has rheumatoid arthritis and vision problems resulting from diabetes.

Cost is $10 for a barbecue plate or $20 for barbecue, live music and a silent auction.

Young Marines sign-up

The Greater Waco Young Marines chapter will conduct registration from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Prestige Auto Sales, 707 S. Robinson Drive in Robinson.

The youth development program is open to kids ages 8 through high school.

Cost is $40.
