A McLennan County grand jury Wednesday indicted two 18-year-old Waco men, charged in an April 14 carjacking and shooting outside a Bush’s Chicken restaurant.
Mark Anthony Lopez and Robert Anthony Davila are charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon causing injury.
According to Waco police, a man was waiting with two friends in the drive-through at the Bush’s Chicken at 1425 N. New Road when Lopez and Davila jumped into his 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe, pointed guns at him and demanded money.
After directing the man to circle the block, Lopez and Davila made him stop and again demanded money, police said.
The man told them that he didn’t have any money and that they would “just have to shoot him,” police said.
One of the alleged carjackers shot him in his right arm and pushed him into the street before both suspects fled the scene, police said.
Leaving a trail of blood from the intersection, the victim ran to the nearby Little People’s Learning Center, where an employee pressed towels against the wound until an ambulance arrived.
The man’s injuries were not life-threatening.

Maybe Kari put her full name because she isn't afraid of voicing her opinion under her real name instead of a phoney one. Maybe she knows James, like I do, and maybe she knows that shooting someone is wrong, no matter what. James is a good kid and had a good upbringing. Maybe the boys who shot him did too. You can't blame the parents. No one except those boys know for sure what was going on, but it looks like the police believed James and what he said happened. I would think they wouldn't have charged them with aggravated robbery if they thought otherwise. Regardless, they shot him and stole his vehicle and burned it. Does anything justify that? Next time it may be you or someone you love that gets shot. I wonder if any some of these people's opinions might change then? Those who live in glass houses, shouldn't cast stones.
