The Hewitt Public Library will present comic magician and entertainer Todd McKinney at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Hewitt Community Center, 208 Chama Drive in Hewitt.
Mckinney will present “Texas Treasures,” a program featuring tall tales of Texas, magic and family fun.

Military officers meeting
The Heart Of Texas Military Officers Association Of America will have a dinner meeting from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Ridgewood Country Club, 7300 Fish Pond Road.
The guest speaker will be World War II veteran Edward Starnes, who will discuss his experiences in the Battle of Bastogne.
Cost is $27. MOAA members, spouses and their guests can attend.

Art Guild sale
The Art Guild of Central Texas will have a sale of the deceased Waco artist Frank Letzler’s painting materials and furniture from 2:30 to 5 p.m. today in Letzler’s former home, 3425 N. 29th St. Letzler died May 1.
Proceeds will go to a Letzler scholarship fund, which will be administered by the guild.
Rotary fundraiser
The Waco Northwest Rotary Club is sponsoring a dinner fundraiser to support the Eagle Scout project of Hunter Chapman from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Crestview Church of Christ Community Center, 7129 Delhi Road.
Chapman, a Life Scout in Boy Scout Troop 308, is working on a water-supply project for the Apachochi School for children of the Tarahumara Indians in Northwest Mexico.
Dinner cost is $8.

Twitter basics class
The Waco Social Media Club is sponsoring “Twitter Basics: A Hands-On Workshop” from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday in Room 404 of Baylor University’s Cashion Building, Fourth Street and Speight Avenue.
The step-by-step workshop will cover how to use the social media tool for business, networking and staying in touch.

The Highlander Alumni Association will accept nominations through June 30 for the Distinguished Alumni and the Distinguished Young Leader awards at McLennan Community College.
Nomination forms for both awards are available at alumni.mclennan.edu.
Honorees will be recognized at the MCC Foundation’s Scholarship Awards Ceremony in September.
