Four fire departments helped quench a fire Sunday night near Valley Mills.
Valley Mills, Clifton, Crawford and Coryell city fire departments responded about
7:30 p.m. to the apartment fire on East Middle Bosque Road about nine miles from Valley Mills.
The two-bedroom apartment was above a garage and was connected to a house by a covered walkway, said Valley Mills Fire Chief David Fisk. The fire left the apartment uninhabitable, but the house wasn’t damaged, Fisk said.
Children had their rooms in the apartment, while their parents lived in the main house, Fisk said.
No one was home when the fire started.
The fire’s cause was unknown and under investigation Monday, but it appears the fire could have started in a vehicle outside the apartment, Fisk said.
