Tickets are on sale for the Heart of Texas Water Garden and Pond Society’s annual Central Texas Pond Tour scheduled for June 6-7.
The event will feature 15 backyard ponds.
Tickets cost $5, free for kids ages 3 and younger, and are available at Cameron Park Zoo, 1701 N. Fourth St.; Hill Creek Water Gardens, 5635 N. State Highway 6 in Speegleville; Landscape Supply, 1900 W. Loop 340; North Waco Tropical Fish, 1521 N. 15th St.; and Wild Birds Unlimited, 1507 Wooded Acres Drive.
Proceeds will support the construction of the new Asian Forest Project at Cameron Park Zoo.

Summer scout camp
Girl Scouts of Central Texas is conducting summer camp registration for girls in grades one to 12. Girls do not have to be in Scouts.
Camp sessions are offered from June 14 to July 28 at Camp Kachina on Lake Belton.
Sessions are overnight and range in length from two to five nights.
Activities will include canoeing, horseback riding, swimming, dance and more.
Camp session costs begin at $150. Non-Girl Scouts will be charged a $10 registration fee to become a registered Scout.

Juneteenth celebration
The Cen-Tex African American Chamber of Commerce is seeking vendors and parade participants for its 2009 Juneteenth celebration, scheduled from 9 a.m. to midnight June 20 at Indian Spring Park.
Marching bands, steppers, dancers, and civic, business, fraternal and religious organizations are welcome to participate in the festivities.
The event will celebrate the diversity of black culture with music, dance and entertainment.
